BOOM provides two simplified approaches to the basic idea within
Phantastic Phonetic Phactory.
1/ Players are invited to choose a noisy place - street, seashore, factory,
etc, and make a list of associated sound words.
2/ A few poems with a large number of useful `sound' words can be
selected, read out, thought about. The sound words are written down.
Following either or both the above, or without either, players can be asked
to write down three sound words on slips: these are collected, put into a
hat and redistributed. The poem can then be developed as in Phantastic
Phonetic Phactory.
Other games with sounds are Hear here! and Comic Strip.
